Dr. Joseph P. Dragone is a seasoned leader in educational administration, workforce development, and strategic planning. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at Russell Sage College, he specializes in research methods and guiding student quantitative research.
His commitment to workforce development extends to his role as owner of GMD Strategies, LLC, where he focuses on education sector strategy and planning. During his tenure as Senior Executive Officer at Capital Region BOCES, Dr. Dragone played a pivotal role in developing innovative career pathways, managing programs across career and technical education, adult education, and special education for over 80,000 students.
Under his leadership, BOCES earned notable recognitions, including the Albany Business Review's 2023 Non-Profit of the Year Award and the New York State School Boards Association’s Champions of Change Awards in 2022 and 2023. Previously, as Superintendent of the Ballston Spa Central School District, Dr. Dragone implemented forward-thinking programs, from coding and robotics to clean technologies and early college high schools, earning the district multiple accolades.
A respected voice in workforce policy and recipient of numerous awards, he serves on several advisory councils and executive committees, contributing to efforts in workforce readiness and educational advancement.
