Quazi Ummehany thrives as an apprentice at NY CREATES—and as a recipient of NIICA’s Maddison Spaulding Memorial Scholarship

Quazi Ummehany is an Industrial Manufacturing Technician apprentice at the New York Center for Research, Economic Advancement, Technology, Engineering, and Science (NY CREATES) in Albany, NY. Since entering the program in Summer 2024, she has already completed one college course at Hudson Valley Community College and is on her way to completing another.
In her role as a Cleanroom Operator, Quazi brings both passion and precision to her work. She plays a vital role in supporting research and development efforts and is actively contributing to the workforce pipeline needed to drive success in the U.S. semiconductor industry.
Quazi’s commitment and drive were also recognized through her selection as a recipient of the Maddison Spaulding Memorial Scholarship, awarded by NIICA. This scholarship supports apprentices who demonstrate exceptional dedication and resilience by providing $1,000 toward expenses such as transportation, childcare, and other barriers to employment.
With her focus on innovation and skills development, Quazi is not just building a career—she’s helping build the future of American manufacturing.
